Keto chocolate mousse with cream cheese recipe

Chocolate Mousse With Cream Cheese Recipe

If you love chocolate cheesecake, you’re going to love this chocolate mousse with cream cheese. It’s rich, creamy and chocolatey, but there’s no cheesecake crust and no baking required.

This easy keto chocolate mousse needs just 4 simple ingredients and takes only a few minutes to prepare. Whipped cream gives it a light, fluffy texture while softened cream cheese adds that delicious cheesecake flavour.

It’s a great low carb and sugar-free dessert for when you want something sweet without spending ages in the kitchen.

Serve the chocolate cream cheese mousse in small dessert glasses or ramekins and refrigerate until chilled. It’s especially good topped with a little whipped cream, grated dark chocolate or a dusting of cocoa powder.

Why you’ll love this recipe

  • 4 ingredients
  • No baking required
  • Ready in minutes
  • Rich chocolate cheesecake flavour
  • Low carb and keto friendly
  • Easy to make ahead
  • Perfect for Valentine’s Day or dinner parties

The Simple Ingredients For The Easy Recipe

Spoon of mousse

You only need four simple ingredients to make this creamy chocolate mousse.

Cream

Use heavy cream, whipping cream or double cream that can be whipped to soft or stiff peaks.

Cocoa Powder

Unsweetened cocoa powder gives the mousse its rich chocolate flavour. For the best result, use a good-quality unsweetened cocoa powder.

Stevia

I use stevia to sweeten this dessert, but you can use your preferred powdered keto-friendly sweetener. The amount you need will depend on the sweetness of your particular sweetener.

Cream Cheese

Use full-fat cream cheese for the richest and creamiest mousse. Let it soften to room temperature before mixing so that it blends smoothly into the whipped cream.

Chocolate Mousse Variations

There are several easy ways to change up this chocolate cream cheese mousse.

Chocolate Orange Mousse

Add a little finely grated orange zest to the mixture for a chocolate-orange flavour.

Chocolate Peppermint Mousse

Add a tiny amount of peppermint extract for a chocolate mint dessert.

Extra Chocolatey Mousse

Add a little more unsweetened cocoa powder for a darker chocolate flavour. You may need additional sweetener to balance the bitterness.

Chocolate Cheesecake Mousse Cups

Layer the mousse into small glasses with a little crushed keto-friendly biscuit or low carb cookie for a dessert inspired by chocolate cheesecake.

If you love creamy chocolate desserts, try my Chocolate Ricotta Mousse, which is a quick, yet indulgent, 3-ingredient dessert.

How To Make Chocolate Mousse With Cream Cheese

Whipping chocolate mousse with cream cheese

1. Whip the cream

Pour the whipping cream into a large mixing bowl and use an electric mixer to whip until thickened and beginning to form soft peaks.

2. Add the cocoa and sweetener

Add the unsweetened cocoa powder and powdered sweetener. Whisk briefly until the cocoa and sweetener are evenly incorporated.

3. Add the cream cheese

Make sure your cream cheese is softened to room temperature. Add it to the chocolate cream mixture and beat until smooth, creamy and fluffy.

4. Chill

Spoon the mousse into small serving glasses or ramekins. Refrigerate for a few hours before serving so the mousse becomes thicker and more chilled.

For an extra-special presentation, pipe the mousse into individual glasses using a piping bag and decorate with whipped cream or a little grated chocolate.

Feel free to double the recipe to serve a crowd at a dinner party as the perfect dessert that’s keto diet friendly.

This makes enough for 4 small portions, which is perfect as it’s wonderfully rich and the perfect way to end a meal, especially on a special occasion like Valentine’s Day.

What Does Chocolate Mousse With Cream Cheese Taste Like?

This chocolate mousse has a rich, creamy chocolate flavour with a delicious cheesecake-like tang from the cream cheese.

The whipped cream makes the mousse light and fluffy, while cocoa powder gives it a deep chocolate flavour. Adding cream cheese makes it thicker and gives it the taste of a chocolate cheesecake without the crust or baking.

Because it’s such a rich dessert, small servings are usually enough.

Tips For Making The Best Chocolate Cream Cheese Mousse

Let the cream cheese soften first. Cold cream cheese is harder to incorporate and can leave small lumps in the mousse.

Don’t over-whip the cream. Whip until thickened and fluffy rather than continuing to beat it excessively.

Use powdered sweetener. A powdered sweetener will blend into the mousse more easily than a coarse granulated sweetener.

Taste before chilling. Sweeteners vary in strength, so taste the mousse before transferring it to the fridge and add more sweetener if needed.

Chill before serving. The mousse becomes thicker and more cheesecake-like after several hours in the refrigerator.

Make individual portions. Small glasses or ramekins are perfect because this is a rich dessert.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make chocolate mousse with cream cheese?

Yes. Cream cheese works particularly well in chocolate mousse because it adds richness and a cheesecake-like flavour while also helping create a thick, creamy dessert.

Is chocolate mousse with cream cheese keto?

This recipe can fit a keto or low carb diet when made with a keto-friendly sweetener and unsweetened cocoa powder. Check the nutrition information for the specific ingredients and brands you use.

Can I make this chocolate mousse ahead of time?

Yes. This mousse is ideal for making ahead. Prepare it several hours before serving and keep it refrigerated until you’re ready to eat it.

How long does chocolate cream cheese mousse last in the fridge?

Store the mousse covered in the refrigerator and use it within a few days. For the best texture and flavour, I recommend serving it within 2–3 days.

Can I freeze chocolate mousse with cream cheese?

You can freeze it, although the texture may change slightly after thawing. For the creamiest mousse, refrigeration is preferable.

Can I use mascarpone instead of cream cheese?

Yes. Mascarpone can be used for an even richer and milder chocolate mousse. The flavour will be less tangy than when using cream cheese.

Can I use a different sweetener?

Yes. You can use your preferred powdered sugar alternative. Sweeteners vary in sweetness, so start with a smaller amount and adjust to taste.

Why is my chocolate mousse too runny?

The mousse may be too runny if the cream wasn’t whipped enough, the cream cheese was too soft, or the mousse hasn’t had enough time to chill. Refrigerating it for several hours should help it firm up.

What can I serve with chocolate mousse?

Serve it on its own or top with whipped cream, grated dark chocolate, cocoa powder, chopped nuts or a few fresh berries. Choose toppings according to your preferred low carb or keto approach.

Recommended Kitchen Tools

Here are a few kitchen tools that make this chocolate cream cheese mousse even easier to prepare:

  • Electric hand mixer – Makes whipping the cream quick and easy.
  • Large mixing bowl – Gives you plenty of room to whip the cream without making a mess.
  • Fine-mesh sieve – Helps incorporate the cocoa powder smoothly without lumps.
  • Silicone spatula – Handy for scraping every last bit of mousse from the mixing bowl.
  • Piping bags and tips – Great for creating neat individual portions when serving the mousse for guests.

Keto Strawberry Jam Recipe

November 16, 2019 by Easy Keto Living

Keto Strawberry Jam Recipe With Chia Seeds – Easy Homemade Low Carb and Sugar Free Sweet Jam Recipes with the video tutorial.

Keto Strawberry Jam Recipe

Keto Strawberry Jam Recipe

This keto strawberry jam recipe is really quick and easy to prepare and a jar lasts well in the fridge.

The keto jam recipe only has three simple ingredients, all that are low in net carbs – strawberries, chia seeds and stevia.

The simple recipe is thickened thanks to the wonder of nutritious chia seeds – which are one of the best high fiber keto foods. You can use black chia seeds, white chia seeds, ground chia seeds or grind the chia seeds yourself in a food processor if you’d prefer a smooth textured low-carb strawberry jam.

To make the easy recipe for the chia seed jam, simply heat a bag of frozen strawberries over medium heat until easily mashable.

I tend to use frozen vegetables because they are much cheaper than fresh strawberries. But, if you come into a bounty of fresh juicy strawberries during strawberry season then feel free to use them instead.

Boiling strawberries to make low carb jam

Then, mash the strawberries until smooth and stir through chia seeds and stevia. (Or a low carb sweetener of your choice, such as monk fruit sweetener, to avoid any unnecessary added sugar that usually appears in regular jam.)

Have a taste of the sugar free strawberry jam recipe to see if it’s sweet enough to your liking. I find that a 1/4 cup of stevia per 500g/1.1lbs of berries is the perfect sweetness for me to balance the natural sweetness from the fruit juice of the berries.

Mashin strawberries

You may want to use a third or a half a cup to make it sweet enough for you.

If you’d prefer a smooth textured delicious keto strawberry jam over a chunky jam, then pass the delicious jam through a sieve or blend it when cool in a blender or food processor to create a smooth strawberry puree.

Once the low carb strawberry jam has cooled, move the cooked jam to a mason jar and then store in the fridge.

This keto jam is perfect to use in all of your favorite ways you usually enjoy your favorite hams such as mixed through smoothies, low carb yogurt or as a topping for keto breakfast cookies, keto waffles, pancakes or spread on keto bread with peanut butter or almond butter.

How to make chia jam

Keto Strawberry Jam With Chia Seeds Recipe

  • 500g/1.1lbs Frozen Strawberries
  • 1/4 Cup Chia Seeds
  • 1/4 Cup Stevia or Keto Sweetener
  1. Place the frozen berries into a small to medium saucepan on the stove top over medium to high heat.
  2. Heat, stirring regularly, until the berries have become soft and can easily be mashed with the back of a spoon or fork.
  3. Take the berries off of the heat and mash until smooth. I like to use a potato masher to mash the berries.
  4. Add the chia seeds and stevia, stir until well combined. Taste to be sure the jam is sweet enough, stirring through more stevia, if needed.
  5. Allow the hot jam to cool and then pour the sweet jam into a jar or airtight container and store in the fridge.
  6. Use the homemade jam within a week and enjoy.

Keto Alfredo Sauce Recipe

November 11, 2019 by Easy Keto Living

Keto Alfredo Sauce Recipe With 3 Ingredients – How to make the best easy homemade Low Carb Alfredo Sauce with Zoodles and without cream cheese.

Keto Alfredo Sauce Recipe With 3 Ingredients and Zoodles

Keto Alfredo Sauce Recipe

I like to refer to this homemade keto alfredo sauce recipe as my version of 2 minute noodles – but call is 2 minute zoodles and will help you stay on plan and achieve your own personal health and weight loss goals.

This low carb diet dish comes together so quickly and this creamy keto alfredo sauce has only 3 simple ingredients, yet tastes completely authentic and way better than store-bought alfredo sauces.

How To Make Keto Homemade Alfredo With Zoodles

The sauce has 3 core ingredients – heavy cream, fresh garlic and parmesan cheese. You can create a tasty low-carb diet friendly alfredo with just those 3 ingredients, and below there are some suggestions for adaptations to suit your tastes.

Plate of zucchini noodles or zoodles

Start by getting all of your keto-friendly ingredients prepped. Spiralize zucchini into zucchini noodles, (You’ll need a spiralizer for that, here’s a selection of spiralizers on Amazon.)

Then, get out the parmesan cheese and grate it if it’s not already grated. Peel the garlic and get it ready and waiting in the garlic crusher to crush over the dish when needed.

Once you’re all prepped and ready, heat the zoodles in coconut oil or butter for about 30 seconds. Crush the garlic over the zoodles and give it a toss through.

Cooking zucchini noodles or zoodles in a frying pan with sauce

Then pour over as much heavy cream as you’d like, Allow to bubble for a further 30 seconds, add the parmesan to create a cheesy gooey cream sauce to taste. Once done it can look like keto fettuccine alfredo. You can also add in an egg yolk or two to add another high fat ingredient to the pasta sauce.

There are loads of adaptations to this recipe. You could add chicken breast, use garlic salt or already crushed garlic, mix up the cheese options and add in any cheese you like for the cheesy flavor and even swap the zucchini noodles for cabbage noodles, Shirataki noodles or your favorite low carb noodle, low carb pasta or keto pasta of choice.

You could also swap the cream for coconut milk or almond milk and use dairy free alternatives for the parmesan to create a dairy free low carb alfredo sauce recipe made with basic ingredients that’s low in grams of net carbs.

There isn’t one best way to create your easy keto alfredo sauce. I haven’t specified the amount of cream or parmesan cheese, because it really depends on how creamy and cheesy you’d like your traditional alfredo sauce.

Low Carb alfredo with zoodles and without cream cheese

Keto Diet Alfredo Sauce Recipe With Zoodles

  • 1 Zucchini
  • 1-2 Garlic Cloves, Peeled
  • Heavy cream or heavy whipping cream
  • Grated Parmesan cheese or Pecorino Romano
  • Butter or Coconut Oil, for frying
  • Salt & Black pepper or white pepper to taste
  1. Spiralize the zucchini into zucchini noodles.
  2. Heat butter or coconut oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  3. When hot, add the zucchini noodles.
  4. Cook for about 30 seconds, then crush over the garlic.
  5. Toss through the minced garlic and then pour over the cream, reducing the creamy alfredo sauce to a low heat.
  6. Bubble for under a minute, add the parmesan, salt and the black pepper, to taste and serve the creamy sauce, storing any leftovers in an airtight container.

Keto For Beginners

November 4, 2019 by Easy Keto Living

Keto For Beginners – What Is The Keto Diet, what to eat on a low carb ketogenic diet, how to know you’re in ketosis and tips for success.

Keto for beginners - how to start and what to eat

Keto For Beginners

Over the past 3 years I have followed the Ketogenic Diet (on and off) so I have tons of Keto For Beginners tips to share with you.

What Is The Keto Diet?

Let me start by explaining the Keto Diet – which is a low carb, high fat diet that can put your body into a state of fat burning ketosis.

It’s a very low carb diet – your diet will be made up of:

  • 5% Carbs
  • 20% Protein
  • 75% Fats

So, as you can see, fats make up the majority of your day to day meals.

What To Eat On A Low Carb Ketogenic Diet

So, how do you put together meals that fit Keto macros? Well, start with fat! Find sources of fat that are keto friendly that you enjoy and then rotate them through your meals.

Use this Keto Calculator to work out your own personal calorie and macro goals to aim for.

Here’s a brief list of foods to include and mix and match in your diet. You’ll find that you don’t have to spend a fortune to follow the keto diet. places like ALDI are great for stocking up on essentials. (Here’s my ALDI Shopping List.)

Healthy Fats – coconut oil, olive oil, MCT OIl, avocado oil – keep a selection of healthy oils to include in your meals.

Cheesy Vegetable casserole

Full Fat Dairy – butter, cream, sour cream, cream cheese, mascarpone, cheese or a potion of another full fat dairy can be enjoyed with keto meals.

The above pictured low carb vegetable casserole has sour cream, cream and cheese included to create a low carb, high fat keto meal.

Nuts & Seeds – a handful of cashews, almonds, macadamias or your favorite nut makes a handy snack. Nuts and seeds are high in fat, protein and fiber. Just don’t overdo it as the carbs can quickly add up and you can blog your macros without realizing it! (Here are ideas for 17 Keto Snacks.)

Dinner in Five

Meat, Chicken, Ham, Seafood, Fish – enjoy your proteins of choice, in moderation, ideally fattier cuts so that you’re getting more fat in your diet. Some of my favorite keto protein rich meals are a steak salad and cheesy chicken bake.

Avocado – full of healthy fats, fiber and a creamy vegetable to include with meals or as a snack.

Keto for beginners breakfast ideas

Eggs – I tend to have eggs for breakfast most mornings, along with possible a vegetables and a protein too. There are also plenty of low carb breakfasts without eggs you can have too.

Other favorites are easy keto granola or bread that you can enjoy in tasty breakfast meals.

Fruit on keto

Fruit – strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, lemons and limes are the fruit you’re limited to on Keto. You can have a handful with whipped cream, in a smoothie or in a dessert like the above pictured strawberry mousse.

Cheesy Cauliflower Rice

Vegetables – there’s a huge choice of low carb vegetables that you can include in your diet:

  • Cauliflower (like in the above pictured Cheesy Cauliflower Rice)
  • Broccoli
  • Mushrooms
  • Brussels Sprouts
  • Spinach
  • Kale
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Tomatoes
  • Peppers

How To Know You’re In Ketosis

How to know you're in ketosis

I find that when I’m in ketosis, I have regular bursts of energy and my overall mood is lifted.

You can test whether you’re in ketosis by examining your breath, urine or blood for ketones.

Personally, I find that the least invasive, and most cost efficient method is by using Ketone Strips. It helps to reassure myself that I’m in Ketosis and what I’m doing is working.

Keto For Beginners – How To Avoid Keto Flu

How to avoid the keto flu

It may be struggle if you’re moving from a standard, carb and sugar loaded diet to a keto diet. Your body may need time to become fat adapted.

I’ve found that the following helps my body adapt as quick as possible, without experiencing any of the dreaded keto flu symptoms:

  • Drink Plenty Of Water
  • Exercise – if you regularly work out then keep up your workouts, if you don’t work out at all then try and start with gentle exercise such as yoga or walking to get your body moving.
  • Sleep – you may notice that’s you’re extra tired when starting keto, so listen to your body, skip that extra late night Netflix show and try and get more sleep!
  • Electrolytes – salt, magnesium and potassium – get your Doctor to prescribe supplements to ensure you’re getting enough electrolytes

7 Easy Keto Breakfast Ideas

October 17, 2019 by Easy Keto Living

7 Easy Keto Breakfast Ideas – A week of quick and simple low carb ketogenic diet breakfast recipes and video tutorial – with and without eggs.

7 Easy Low Carb Keto Diet Breakfast Ideas and Recipes

7 Easy Keto Breakfast Ideas

As you’ll see in this post – there are heaps of easy keto breakfast ideas to enjoy through the week.

There are breakfasts you can enjoy with or without eggs – depends on what you feel like and how much time you have on any particular morning.

I’ve found that with a low carb diet like the ketogenic diet, breakfast rules can go out the window and you can really have whatever you feel like for breakfast. Even if they are a bit on the unconventional side!

For even more breakfast inspiration than I share in this post, check out Breakfast in 5. You’ll get 30 Easy Keto Breakfast Ideas – all with 5 ingredients, 5 net carbs and 5 simple steps with each recipe. (Click here to learn more.)

Day 1 – Breakfast Fry Up

Easy keto breakfast fry up idea

To start the week, I had a big low carb breakfast fry up which included:

  • Fried eggs
  • Mushrooms
  • Leftover sausages

It was all cooked/heated up in plenty of coconut oil in a frying pan.

You could cook your eggs any how you like, fry them up with your choice of vegetables from the following low carb foods:

  • Broccoli
  • Mushrooms
  • Spinach
  • Cauliflower
  • Asparagus
  • Radishes (which fry up like potatoes!)
  • Onion/Garlic (sparingly)

You can use low carb sausages as the meat portion or fry up bacon, leftover roast chicken/meat or any other breakfast protein you like.

Day 2 – Egg Free Breakfast Fry Up

Lamb Chop and Vegetables Low Carb Breakfast

If you feel like a breakfast fry up, but without eggs then this is the perfect breakfast.

I went for a small pack of lamb loin chops, which are budget friendly at the moment at ALDI. (Click here for my ALDI Shopping List.)

Simply melt butter or coconut oil in a frying pan and then cook up a couple of low carb friendly vegetables and the lamb chops. I went for mushrooms and spinach.

So, start by cooking the mushrooms first, then add the lamb chops and a generous pinch of salt.

Once the mushrooms and lamb was cooked, remove it all from the frying pan, move to a plate and briefly saute the spinach until it’s wilted.

Move the spinach to the plate and I added a couple of spoons of saurkraut for a potion of healthy fermented vegetables with my breakfast.

The whole plate was really quick to put together and makes an easy low carb, keto diet friendly breakfast.

Day 3 – Chia Pudding

Easy chia pudding breakfast bowl

Pop 2 tablespoons of chia seeds into a bowl, glass or mug.

Top with half a cup of liquid from the following options – almond milk, kefir, low carb yogurt, cream.

I went for a quarter of a cup of almond milk and a quarter of a cup of kefir.

Add a half a teaspoon of stevia (or more) for sweetness and stir well to combine. Move the chia pudding to the fridge to thicken for a few hours or overnight.

Enjoy topped with berries, grated low carb chocolate, cream or shredded coconut.

Day 4 – Cheese Omelette

Cheese omelette breakfast with spinach on the side

Whisk 2-3 eggs together until smooth. You can also add a splash of almond milk or cream for extra creamy eggs.

Before you get cooking, prep your filling by grating some cheese. You can choose to have just one cheese option or a mixture of cheeses for an extra cheesy omelette.

I went for a mixture of vintage cheddar and parmesan in my cheese omelette.

Melt coconut oil or butter in a frying pan and, when hot, pour in the omelette mixture.

Once the egg starts to set, move the inside set omelette to the outside and swivel the pan to cook the mixture evenly.

Add the grated cheese, fold over the omelette and cook until done to your liking. (For more ideas, here’s my full Keto Omelette Recipe.)

Day 5 – Easy Keto Breakfast Shake

Easy Keto breakfast protein shake idea

When you don’t have much time in the morning then a breakfast shake makes and easy, little to no prep meal.

Just find a low carb protein powder (like this) and add a tablespoon or scoop to a protein shaker, along with almond milk and cream. I like to add a dash of cream to my protein shakes to elevate the healthy fat content.

Then, shake it up for a speedy breakfast or breakfast on the go.

Day 6 – Tuna Breakfast Scramble

Tuna, spinach and cheese breakfast scramble

This easy keto breakfast is low in carbs and high in protein. So, it’s perfect for a day when you’re working out or just craving extra protein.

Whisk together 2-3 eggs and a splash of cream until smooth.

As with the cheese omelette, if you’d like cheese with your breakfast scramble, grate it before you get cooking because it all comes together very quickly.

Also open and drain a tin of tuna and wash spinach or any other vegetables you’d like to include.

Heat coconut oil or butter in a frying pan. Pour in the scrambled egg mixture. Start scrambling as soon as the eggs start setting.

Once the eggs are almost ready, add in the tin of tuna, cheese and spinach.

Cook until the spinach has wilted, cheese melted and tuna heated through.

Day 7 – Hot Chocolate

Easy Low carb keto hot chocolate for breakfast

And the final in this week of easy keto breakfast ideas is a hot chocolate.

Simply heat 1 Cup of almond milk in a saucepan until simmering. Then, quickly whisk in a row of low carb chocolate (like this) and a dash of cream.

Pour into a mug and enjoy! You could also top the hot chocolate with more cream, low carb ice cream or some shaved chocolate.

I find that a hot chocolate that’s low in carbs and high in fat like this really keeps me full until lunch and is the perfect quick breakfast from time to time.

Keto Raspberry Smoothie Recipe

Keto Raspberry Smoothie Recipe – How to make an easy 3 ingredient low carb smoothie with raspberries.

Jump to Recipe
3 Ingredient Keto Raspberry Smoothie

Keto Raspberry Smoothie Recipe

This easy keto raspberry smoothie recipe has only 3 ingredients and is really quick to throw together.

You can enjoy this smoothie as a snack, sweet treat or add in a scoop of protein powder and have it for breakfast.

I like to use my Nutribullet for blending together smoothies. It’s easy to use and you can conveniently even drink the smoothie straight from the blender cup. (Here are Nutribullets on Amazon.)

Low Carb Smoothie Ingredients

When looking for a keto friendly yogurt option, the best bet is usually a plain, natural or Greek Yogurt variety. Those options usually have the lowest carbs and sugars.

Ingredients for low carb smoothies

I’ve used canned coconut milk as my milk of choice as it’s low in carbs and high in healthy fats. I do tend to water it down slightly because it’s just so thick.

If you’d prefer to use almond milk or another low carb milk you can use 3/4 cup of a cup and no water instead.

Blending the smoothie

I’ve gone for frozen raspberries to give the smoothie a refreshing, frosty texture.

You could use fresh raspberries instead if you want, if they are in season and economically friendly.

I find that keeping a bag of frozen raspberries in the freezer lasts ages as I only use a quarter of a cup at a time.

Keto Low Carb Smoothie with raspberries

Low Carb Raspberry Smoothie Recipe

  • 1/2 Cup Canned Coconut Milk + 1/4 Cup Water (Or 3/4 Cup Almond Milk)
  1. Pour the yogurt, raspberries, coconut milk and water (or almond milk) into your blender.
  2. Blend the ingredients together until you have a creamy smoothie.
  3. You may need to stop the blender, carefully scrape down the sides and re-blend to get all of the berries incorporated.
  4. Pour into a glass and enjoy straight away.

Easy Keto Chocolate Cake Recipe

October 10, 2019 by Easy Keto Living

Easy Keto Chocolate Cake Recipe – Low Carb Birthday Cake – Ketogenic Diet Cake Recipes with coconut flour plus the video tutorial.

Easy Keto Chocolate Cake Recipe - great for birthdays

Easy Keto Chocolate Cake Recipe

This easy keto chocolate cake recipe has been the perfect dessert for all my family birthdays and celebrations through the past year.

It’s super simple to put together and is rich and chocolatey. You just pop all of the cake ingredients into a bowl and whisk until you have a chocolate cake batter.

Mixing together the ingredients for cake

I tend to take the butter out of the fridge first thing in the morning and let it come to room temperature so that it’s softened enough to whisk into the chocolate cake by mid morning/afternoon.

The chocolate cake is rich and wonderfully dark. If you’d prefer a sweeter cake then just increase the stevia to make it as sweet as you’d like.

Then, pour the batter into a cake tin and bake in the oven until done.

Chocolate cake covered with keto chocolate frosting

Once the cake is out of the oven and cooled, make the easy chocolate frosting and smother the cake in the rich chocolate covering.

If you’d like a bigger cake, then simply double the recipe and stack two cakes on top of each other.
